Lahore Corps Commander Visits Areas Affected with Floods.

LAHORE: Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Corps Commander Lahore, visited Punjab's flood-hit areas on Thursday, said ISPR.

Lt Gen Majid Ehsan toured Kasur and Head Sulemanki regions affected by the flood, according to the military press wing. In support of civil administration, the Army supervised the continuing relief and rescue procedure in the impacted regions.

The Corps Commander also toured the medical camps and discussed the condition with the physicians.

The Corps Commander appreciated the rescue operation and ordered the authorities to provide the flood-affected individuals with every feasible facility.

As the water levels mounted in River Sutlej at Gunda Singh Wala Point, earlier on August 21, the humanitarian operation and rescue work of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Kasur District were underway.

In Sutlej river in Hareke City the PDMA spokesperson said that the water flows are 109,319 cusecs. He said that the Sutlej river at Gunda Singh Wala point is 59,000 cusecs of water.
