Punjab Police All Set to Give Foolproof Security in Muharram
LAHORE: DIG of operations wing Lahore Ashfaq Khan has ensured that Lahore police will provide foolproof security in the month of Muharram without taking discriminating schools of thoughts.
He said, we are ready to provide security to all the observing Majalis and mouring processions.
Police officials should maintain continuous connections in order to guarantee peace and justice in the town with representatives of peace commissions, with religious representatives of all sects, including the shia group and with Majalis permit owners. SHOs of all police stations during the Ashur and Muharram period can play a crucial part in maintaining peace.
Ashfaq Khan presided over the high-level session of all DPs, DSPs, SHOs, Chowki In and Muharrars at Qilla Gujjar Singh District Police Lines on Sunday. The meeting was also atteded by the SSP Operations Lahore Ismail-ur-Rehman Kharak, Muhammad Naveed from SP Security, Bilal Zafar SP Dolfin Squad and Mehmood ul Hassan.
He has guided the Sound System Act to be implemented alongside the timely beginning of Majalis and other programmes. Ashfaq Khan said that this year, after a record history of Lahore as a peaceful city, the Lahore Police will guarantee peaceful Muharram. Commander of Lahore's Operations Wing said that in order to prevent an enemy's bad design, Lahore Police will be on high alert and will be following the SOPs and the Muharram safety schedule in a peaceful way.
It will be assured for search and scan, geo-tagging, picketing and monitoring of tenants. He also indicates that building bunkers on Imambargahs towers, installing gateways and cameras for CCTV as well as supplying metal detectors for the quest should be guaranteed well before Muharram. Ashfaq Khan said that the participants in the primary Ashura-e-Muharram mourning processions would be supplied with three levels of safety.
CCTV cameras by Punjab Safe Cities Authorities will continually monitor Muharram processions and other delicate programs. Strict action against spreading any hatred content and wall chalking based on sectarianism will be launched.
The DIG operations said that all the relevant policemen in police stations, circles and departments should be fully familiar with the logistics and human resources of the operations. All police representatives and officials ' overall efficiency is evaluated frequently by means of inventory. Good quality officers will be rewarded, while other officers with bad results will be fined for this follow-up. At the conference, DSPs and SHOs also made proposals for the peaceful conduct of Muharram's programmes.
